Neymar may have been linked with a return to Barcelona in recent transfer windows but he now seems set to commit his future to Paris Saint-Germain.
The former Camp Nou ace had seen speculation increase around his future with some believing he would end up back alongside Lionel Messi in Spain.
Now, though, he has revealed leaving is not on his mind as he seeks Champions League glory with PSG.
He almost managed the feat last year but his side were beaten in the 2020 final by Bayern Munich.
Neymar moved to the French giants in 2017 for a gigantic world-record €222million (£198m) transfer fee and now, with the player still at his peak, it’s unlikely a financially strapped Barca could afford the Brazilian.
He was in top form in the Champions League on Wednesday night, scoring a hat-trick in their clash with Istanbul Basaksehir and created history along the way.
The 28-year-old is now the only player in the Champions League who has scored 20 goals for two different club – not even Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi have achieved it.
And after a thrilling display in the 5-0 win he was asked about his future.
“I am very happy here in Paris. I am very happy at the club, with my team-mates,” Neymar told RMC Sport.
“The idea of leaving does not occur to me. We have to discuss [my contract]. We have a very good relationship, I am very happy and we’ll see what happens in the future.”
News got even better for PSG fans too as president Al-Khelaifi revealed that PSG are also in talks with Mbappe, whose contract expires in 2022 like Neymar’s.
He believes that both players will eventually commit their future to the Ligue 1 champions.
“We started to discuss with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe,” Al-Khelaifi said.
“The discussions will remain confidential but I am very confident. Both want to stay with us.”
