An Arsenal fan despaired at Kieran Tierney’s absence following the Gunners’ dull draw at home to Crystal Palace.
Mikel Arteta’s men missed the chance to make it five wins in a row as the Emirates Stadium clash finished goalless.
Arsenal looked reasonably solid in defence but lacked panache up front. Gunners fan Anthony said the game was crying out for Tierney despite the team’s struggles going forward.
Anthony said Arsenal lacked balance and creativity without the full-back and says he would like to see Tierney be made captain, such is his importance to the team.
He told The Sports Bar: “Oh, I don’t think I’ve ever seen us miss one player so much! There was just no balance and no creativity at all.
“It is disappointing when we’re talking like that about a full-back.
“I think he should be our captain. It just doesn’t look like there’s any leadership out there.”
Tierney’s teammate, Hector Bellerin, agreed that Arsenal struggled but insists the team doesn’t just rely on the Scot.
Bellerin told Sky Sports: “I think we do miss every single player when they’re not on the pitch.
“I thought Ainsley [Maitland-Niles] did a great job filling in, he’s so versatile but it’s true Kieran is in very good form so we probably missed that on the left side.
“We have very talented players in many areas who can come in. We’re not a team that boils down to one player.”
