Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has revealed his frustration at more individual mistakes after his side’s 1-1 draw with Fulham in the Premier League.
Spurs led at half-time thanks to a stunning Harry Kane goal but a nodded leveller from Ivan Cavaleiro saw the points shared and Mourinho mardy.
Supporters are similarly annoyed having seen their side drop points against Newcastle, West Ham, Crystal Palace, and Wolves, while they also missed out on a draw with Liverpool all due to late goals.
It’s a worrying theme for Tottenham and while Mourinho was upset he insisted the manner of the result was a lot different to some of the others.
“Bad result,” he told talkSPORT. “Not a very good performance but enough to win because in the first half we had great chances to win. [Alphonse] Areola made a couple of impossible saves and we should win 2-0 or 3-0 in the first half and the game is over.
“In the second half we didn’t play well but even so the game was under control we had the biggest chance of the game with that Sonny [Heung-Min Son] shot and then out of a cross we lost a man in the box, free header and lose two points.
“This time we had the chances and we missed the chances.
“In some matches away, I remember, for example, Wolves or Crystal Palace we were winning 1-0 and we didn’t create the chances to kill the game and then we were punished later.
“This time we had the chances to kill the game and win it but if you don’t do it then you don’t concede goals like we did and it’s a bad goal to concede.”
Meanwhile, in an interview with Amazon Prime Sport, he added the blame for their slip ups comes from certain players committing errors.
Mourinho said: “There are things that are individual – individual qualities and individual mistakes. Basically, I can not say much more than that.”
