The Football Association have confirmed both Luke Shaw and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will avoid any punishment for their comments about referee Stuart Attwell on Sunday afternoon.
Both the Manchester United manager and the left-back questioned Attwell’s conduct following the 0-0 stalemate against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

However, the FA does not consider their comments to be in breach of the rules and regulations.
Shaw insisted the referee told captain Harry Maguire that he could not give a penalty for an alleged handball by Callum Hudson-Odoi because it would ‘cause a lot of talk’.
United later moved to clarify the conversation between Maguire and Attwell, telling Sky Sports News that Maguire has told club officials that Shaw misheard what was said regarding the penalty.
Nevertheless, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was furious with the decision, insisting it was ‘100 per cent’ a penalty and they have been robbed of two points, with his mood not helped by an article which appeared on their opponent’s website ahead of the match.

The FA reviewed Solskjaer and Shaw’s post-match comments but did not consider them to breach their rules or regulations.
Players and managers can be punished for making comments about officials which are deemed to ‘imply bias or attack their integrity’.
Attwell was advised to review his decision not to award a penalty against Hudson-Odoi by Chris Kavanagh, the VAR, but chose to stand by his original call.
