Thomas Tuchel has been in charge of Chelsea for just nine matches but one fan claims he’s seen what he brings all before.
The former Borussia Dortmund and Parisa Saint-Germain boss has made a positive start to life at Chelsea. He’s unbeaten in his new job and has put the Blues well in contention of a top four finish.
However, they failed to fully build on Tuchel’s promising start last weekend as they could only manage a goalless draw to Manchester United in an uninspiring Stamford Bridge showdown.
Chelsea fan Richard hilariously quipped that the best part of Sunday’s match was the final whistle but he’s very concerned about the direction his club are heading.
Tuchel opted to play three centre-backs against the Red Devils, while six of the starting XI were defensively-minded and in-form Timo Werner was benched.
Richard says it reminds him of when Chelsea were managed by Maurizio Sarri, who was previous manager Frank Lampard’s predecessor.
Sarri guided Chelsea to a third-place finish in the Premier League as well as a Europa League triumph in his only season in west London, however, he’s not well thought of by some Blues fans.
His playing style, known as ‘Sarriball’, was subject to much derision from the Chelsea faithful. Chants of ‘f*** Sarriball’ were often heard at Stamford Bridge during matches.
Richard clearly didn’t rate Sarriball and admits he’s unsure about Tuchel, while also laying into the likes of Antonio Rudiger and Hakim Ziyech, who played against Man United on Sunday.
The disgruntled Chelsea fan told Drivetime: “I ain’t being funny but Tuchel is like getting German Sarriball.
“Rudiger is like Jorginho’s son, he can’t pass it forward. He just passes it sideways.
“The only player who seems to try and bother is Mason Mount. Ziyech is walking round the pitch thinking ‘what do I do?’
“All right, we’ve stiffened up in defence but the attack has got worse! It’s German Sarriball.
“If this is the way we’re going to play… he sacked Frank for results but at least the football was exciting, at least we tried!”
