Manchester United should seize their opportunity to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
That is the view of talkSPORT co-host and die-hard Red Devils fan Andy Goldstein, who believes the Portugal superstar would undoubtedly make United a better team despite his age.
Speculation has surrounded the future of the the 36-year-old, who has been linked with a return to both Real Madrid and United following Juve’s Champions League exit.
He joined Juventus for £99.2million in 2018 after scoring 450 goals in 438 appearances for Los Blancos in a nine-year spell.
But it was at United where he made his name as one of the world’s best from 2003-2009, scoring 118 goals in 292 appearances and scooping his first Ballon d’Or during his six-year spell in Manchester.
Red Devils supporters are, unsurprisingly, desperate to see Ronaldo return to Old Trafford – and Goldstein shares their sentiment as he expressed his excitement to see him link-up with Bruno Fernandes.
“Wow. What a great question that is.” he responded on Drive when asked if he’d like Ronaldo back at United.
“My view is: Yes. They can get him for an absolute bargain. I know they’ve got to pay wages but it will probably only cost him £20-£25m.
“Does he improve that side? Yes he does.
“What experience does he give someone like Dan James? It’s worth his weight in gold. He can sell shirts.
“It will be unbelievable for Ronaldo to finish his career at United. He won’t be starting every week, he’d only play the big games.
“You can play him anywhere across the front three and imagine Bruno supplying the bullets to him.”
