Erling Haaland is football’s biggest star right now but the Borussia Dortmund frontman will not be gracing our TV screens at Euro 2020 this summer.
He would have been a fascinating watch but Norway failed to qualify for the tournament and he is undoubtedly the biggest name to miss out.
The 20-year-old striker is the hottest property in Europe thanks to his astonishing 34 goals in 36 Bundesliga matches for Dortmund this term.
Almost every big club on the continent is keen to sign him but he will no doubt have his pick of top European clubs when he decides his next move, which is likely to be motivated by silverware having developed into one of the top strikers during his time in Germany.
Haaland has been on sensational form at club level over the last two campaigns but he is no stranger to tearing it up on the international stage either.
In fact, Halaand once scored NINE goals (yes, you read that right) for Norway’s Under-20s at the World Cup in 2019 as they thrashed Honduras 12-0.
You can watch a clip of his sensational triple hat-trick, below…
Haaland scored a seventh-minute opener against Honduras, who ended with nine men, and netted the final goal in the last minute.
He already has six goals in just seven appearances for Norway and will probably beat Jorgen Juve’s all-time record of 33 by next year if he continues his incredible form.
Reports last week suggested Real are confident of beating Chelsea, Manchester United and Man City to the Dortmund striker’s signature.
Spanish outlet AS say the Norway international initially agreed to stay at Dortmund until 2022, however, the club’s poor form and the financial effect of the coronavirus pandemic could force them into selling this summer
