Thiago Silva was kicking every ball from the stands as he watched Chelsea beat Atletico Madrid to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The defender was forced to watch from the sidelines due to a thigh injury that has kept him out since February.
Silva has returned to training but is not yet ready to play for Thomas Tuchel’s side, not that they are missing him at the moment.
The Blues won 2-0 on the night to go through to the next round 3-0 on aggregate – in reality it was a comfortable victory for Tuchel as his side are yet to lose during his tenure.
Silva was fully invested into what was happening on the pitch as the cameras cut to him several times during the second half.
We first saw him with his hands on his knees urging his side forward as time expired.
Chelsea then went on to get a late second goal to wrap up the result – and he was seen celebrating wildly with Mason Mount and Jorginho, who were unable to play in the game due to suspension.
Summer signings Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Hakim Zieych all combined for opening goal game with the latter putting the finishing touches to a blistering counter attack.
Emerson then added a late second to wrap up the tie on another counter.
Manager Thomas Tuchel was delighted with the result and from what he saw from the players on the sidelines.
He said: “Very good performance, unbelievable effort, even from the guys in the stands… could feel we totally wanted it.”
