There was a poignant moment during AFTV’s watchalong for Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Liverpool as they paid tribute to channel favourite Claude Callegari.
The YouTube channel was rocked by news of Claude’s passing earlier this week. He was 58 years old.
Claude was an ever-present on AFTV, which was founded in 2012, along with DT, Ty and presenter Robbie Lyle.
He was a popular guest with regular rants on Arsenal and the team’s shortfalls, and was famed online for telling Arsene Wenger, ‘IT’S TIME TO GO’.
And as a mark of respect, the guests did a minute’s applause for Claude in the 19th minute of the match as his birthday was on October 19 in 1962.
In a post written on social media, his family confirmed the cause of his death and thanked fans for their ‘ongoing support’.
“My family and I would like to thank everyone for their ongoing support and kind words during this extremely distressing time,” the post read.
“I am now able to officially confirm that my father passed away from natural causes relating to his health.”
“I hope this will ensure an end to any speculation regarding the matter and our privacy can continue to be respected whilst we make arrangements for his funeral. Thank you.”
The Arsenal squad paid tribute to former player David Rocastle, who died 20 years ago this week.
The players wore ‘Rocky’s’ no.7 jersey during the warm-up ahead of the Emirates Stadium clash.
