Arsenal have made a touching gesture to well-known fan Claude Callegari with a message in their club programme following his death last month.
Claude, who was was a regular on the popular YouTube channel AFTV before leaving his role last year, tragically died of natural causes aged 58.
Claude was long-time regular on AFTV, which was founded in 2012, along with DT, Ty and presenter Robbie Lyle.
He was a popular guest with numerous passionate rants about Arsenal’s troubles.
And as a mark of respect, the club left the following message in their programme for the Everton game on Friday night.
The note read: “It was with great sadness that the club recently learnt of the death of Claudio ‘Claude’ Callegari, a well-known Arsenal fan and larger than life personality, who sadly passed away on March 29 due to natural causes.
“Islington native Claude was a much-loved figure by many around the club and was best known for his passion shown for his beloved Arsenal in online media.
“Claude lived and breathed Arsenal, travelling all over the world to watch them play, having watched his first game at Highbury in 1972.
“Family events were always planned around Arsenal fixtures with one of his grandson’s birthday parties being moved to accommodate a trip to Wembley for an FA Cup final.
“One of the only games he ever missed during his near 50 years as a fan was for his daughter’s wedding, but of course, he was found huddled in a corner with his earphones in – such was his unwavering passion to follow and support the club at every occasion.
“Claude’s passing is a great loss to the Arsenal family and he will be sorely missed.”
