Charlie Austin wants Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Man United and Tottenham KICKED out of Premier League because European Super League plans could ‘destroy everything in English football’

Charlie Austin believes the proposed introduction of the European Super League could ‘destroy everything in English football.’

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Man United and Tottenham – also known as the ‘big six’ – are among 12 founding members of the breakaway competition which would bring about the biggest changes to the game in a generation.

And Austin, who is never afraid of voicing his no-nonsense views, joined Adrian Durham and Darren Gough on Monday’s Drive to vent his disgust at the plans – which he says are a ‘disaster for football’.

“It’s a disaster for football – all the way from top to bottom,” Austin told talkSPORT.

“Those six clubs… for me they’ve agreed to go, so just show them the door and let them go.

“The biggest thing is how are they going to get the trust back from fans. How are they going to get that back?

“You hear from every fan who has spoken from the six clubs and they are obviously fuming, like everybody is. It’s going to be a disaster for English football.

“Morally it’s wrong, let’s be honest. It destroys everything in English football from top to bottom. The English pyramid will be gone.”

Austin, who has worked his way successfully up the football pyramid, also believes the news could spell the end of academies as we know it.

He continued: “Okay, we’ll talk about this… it hasn’t even been brought up yet. What about the academies?

“The six clubs don’t even bring players through the academies. What chance have these kids got now being at Man City’s, Man United’s, Liverpool’s academy?

“You might as well get them out of there now it’s a disaster. The players I’m with [at QPR] at the moment that I’ve spoken with just think it’s not right.

“I think deep down everyone in football, the players at these clubs, knows this can’t happen.

“They’ve thrown this statement out of the blue from nowhere… the season finishes in four or five weeks.

“All of a sudden the game has been ripped apart and there seems to be no way out.

“If I’m the hierarchy of those 14 clubs meeting tomorrow I’d be saying let’s get these teams gone – sooner the better if that’s what they want to do.

“There’s too much against it. Football will be ripped apart from top to bottom if this goes ahead.
