Pep Guardiola admits he’s ‘concerned’ about Kevin De Bruyne, who sustained an injury during Manchester City’s FA Cup defeat to Chelsea.
De Bruyne hobbled off in the 48th minute of the semi-final tie after landing awkwardly on his ankle at Wembley.
The extent of the Belgian’s injury is not clear, however, there are fears he won’t be available for City’s Carabao Cup final date with Tottenham next Sunday.
Guardiola told talkSPORT: “Tomorrow [Sunday] we will see. We’re a little bit concerned but we will know tomorrow.”
The City boss later said to the media: “It doesn’t look good. He has pain.”
Despite the De Bruyne setback, City were sluggish throughout the tie as Hakim Ziyech’s 55th-minute strike sealed a deserved win for Chelsea.
The result also ended City’s hopes of winning an unprecedented quadruple but Guardiola insists he’s not disappointed at missing out on all four major trophies this term.
Speaking to talkSPORT, he added: “It’s the fact we’re disappointed to lose this game and to reach the final.
“Last season we arrived and didn’t win but not for the four titles. We never talked about that.
“It’s not about winning the competitions, it’s about Aston Villa [ in the Premier on Wednesday].”
