This Crystal Palace fan has forged an argument to suggest Selhurst Park is the only logical next step in Steven Gerrard’s managerial career.
The Rangers boss has delivered the Scottish Premiership title at Ibrox with months to spare, ending nine years of dominance by Old Firm rivals Celtic.
His side also had a good run at the Europa League, progressing to the last-16, during a season which has got many excited about the Liverpool legend’s future in management.
It is no secret that Gerrard would like to manage the Reds one day, and almost certainly will – however, Clint the Eagles supporter insists he won’t be ready until he manages Palace first.
Clint believes Gerrard needs to prove himself in the Premier League or risk turning out like Graeme Souness, another Reds legend who had great success as a manager at Rangers, before it didn’t quite work out at Anfield.

He told Drivetime on talkSPORT: “This is very left-field and I don’t think it would happen, but I think it would benefit both Palace and Liverpool if we [Palace] got Gerrard in.
“At Rangers, he’s only competing with Celtic, and on a good day, Aberdeen.
“We all know he wants to be the Liverpool manager at some stage – but until he proves it in the Premier League, he could turn out to just be another Graeme Souness.
“If he can go to somewhere like Palace and put them in the top eight oor ten, it would prove that he can do it in the top leagues, which would also set him up to be the Liverpool manager.”
While Gerrard’s future is often a topic of debate, the Celtic hotseat is the main source of conversation in Scottish football right now.
Former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe remains the frontrunner, but talkSPORT host Simon Jordan reckons he should manage – you guessed it – Crystal Palace, instead.
On Tuesday’s White and Jordan show, former Palace owner backed Howe to make a successful return to the Premier League to catapult him in contention for ‘one of the top jobs’ in the future.
“If he goes to Palace and he’s backed then I think that’s a bigger opportunity in a bigger league for him to leverage himself for one of the top jobs,” Jordan told talkSPORT.
“That is, of course, the ambition of any forthright manager. If that is not going to be the case with Palace and they’re going to sell all their players like Wilfried Zaha and they’re going to tread water, then why would he go?
“He’d go to Celtic, as that is a very attractive and luring proposition. Let’s look at the Celtic job, with the exception of Brendan Rodgers, how many managers have gone in an upward direction [thereafter]?
“Celtic is a fabulous football club with a great history and wonderful support in a league that pays broadcasting rights that are equivalent to a bottle top and a packet of gobstoppers.
“I would suggest the more ambitious move for Eddie Howe is Crystal Palace. The Premier League is not even in the same zipcode in terms of quality to the Scottish Premiership.”
