Actions ultimately speak louder than words, and Neymar showed his class on Tuesday night after Paris Saint-Germain progressed to the Champions League semi-finals at Bayern Munich’s expense.

In August 2020 it was the Brazilian who was crestfallen after the French giants were were denied a first-ever success in the competition by Bayern in last season’s final.

Alaba comforted him on the pitch after Kingsley Coman’s goal against his old club settled a tight final in Lisbon.

And the favour was returned by Neymar in this season’s competition after the holders found themselves on the losing side this time around.

PSG advanced to the last four on away goals [3-3 on aggregate] despite a narrow 1-0 defeat thanks to Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s goal.

And in more good news for PSG fans, Neymar confirmed after the game that he will commit his future to the club.

He told ESPN Brazil: “I’m staying at PSG, the contract extension with PSG is no longer a topic.

“Obviously, I feel very comfortable and at home here at PSG. I feel happier than before”
