Eddie Howe’s move to Celtic is on the verge of collapse, talkSPORT understands.
The former Bournemouth boss had agreed personal terms with the Scottish side to succeed Neil Lennon as manager.
Celtic released a statement to fans admitting they had already hoped to have appointed a new manager but assured fans one would be made shortly.
But it looks like they won’t be announcing Howe with the move believes to have broken down for multiple reasons.
talkSPORT understands there was a problem assembling Howe’s suggested backroom team.
Howe is also believed to he unhappy with the list of transfer targets Celtic presented him with.
This is a hugely important appointment for Celtic, who’s nine-year grip on Scottish football was loosened by Rangers in the 2020/21 season.
Steven Gerrard’s side sealed the Scottish Premiership title with six matches to spare and finished the season 25 points clear of the Hoops.
Howe has been out of work since leaving Bournemouth at the end of the 2019/20 season, which saw them get relegated from the Premier League.
However, the 43-year-old first took charge of the Cherries when they were in League Two in 2008 and took them up to the top flight in 2015.
