Manchester United superstar Bruno Fernandes is very rarely a happy man and at half-time of the Europa League final he appeared furious.
In ‘tunnel cam’ footage which has surfaced from the clash in Gdansk, the Portuguese ace can be seen fuming with the match officials.
The Red Devils lost the match 11-10 on penalties having played out a 1-1 draw after extra-time.
In the end United goalkeeper David de Gea was the unfortunate man to miss after every other penalty found the back of the net in a tense shoot-out.
It had been a lethargic display which lacked any real creativity from the Red Devils.
And while Edinson Cavani was able to cancel out Gerard Moreno’s opener, they fell short when it came to the crunch.
Fernandes was upset at the final whistle but at half-time vented his frustrations at the match official for various incidents.
He was annoyed by the length of time it took the officials to make a VAR decision.
And was irritated by what he saw as timewasting by Tottenham loanee Juan Foyth, who suffered a nosebleed after being accidentally kneed in the head by Paul Pogba.
“The number eight goes twice,” Fernandes appears to say in the behind-the-scenes video, which has appeared on YouTube channel WoW Didn’t Expect That.
“One time he stays down one minute. After again and then after the goal.
“You wait one time for VAR. Three minutes?”
But, after the match, Fernandes called for unity as the dust settles on what was a disappointing outcome.
He tweeted: “We win together and we lose together, when someone fails we all fail, when someone scores we all score, when someone does a save we all save… Always UNITED.’
