Real Madrid are in talks with Massimiliano Allegri over replacing Zinedine Zidane as manager, reports claim.
Zidane is under pressure following Los Blancos’ Champions League exit to Chelsea earlier this month as they trail LaLiga leaders Atletico Madrid by two points with one game to go.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Real Madrid have been in contact with Allegri, who has been out of work since leaving Juventus in 2019.
He tweeted: “Massimiliano Allegri had a meeting with Real Madrid this week.
“He’s in ‘direct contact’ with Real since March. He’ll accept the job in case Real will decide to sign him [Raul is in the list too].
“Italian clubs want him but Allegri priority is Real and he’s waiting.”
Romano continued: “There’s still nothing agreed or signed for Real Madrid next manager.
“Max Allegri is a ‘serious option’, Raul in the shortlist too in case Zidane will confirm he’s leaving. Florentino will decide soon.”
Raul, who scored 323 goals as a player at the Bernabeu, manages the club’s reserve team, Real Madrid Castilla.
Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with a Real Madrid return.
The Everton boss is fighting to secure European football, however, the Toffees missed the chance to go level on points with sixth-placed Tottenham due to a 1-0 defeat to already-relegated Sheffield United on Sunday night.
Ancelotti won the Champions League and the Copa del Rey during his two-year spell in Madrid.
