Gareth Southgate will whittle down his 33-man provisional squad to a maximum of 26 names on Tuesday ahead of this summer’s European Championship.
The tournament was delayed by 12 months due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it gets underway on June 11.

The Premier League season ended last week with key players coming through unscathed with Southgate also getting a boost by seeing Jordan Henderson on the bench for Liverpool.
The England boss was due to name his final 26 for the tournament last Tuesday, but decided to name an expanded 33-man roster to allow himself more time.
The Europa League and Champions League finals were played this week with lots of English players in action, but thankfully it seems they have all come through unscathed.
Speaking about his decision to name a 33-man squad, Southgate explained: “I think our situation is more complicated than any other country at the moment.
“We have known for a while that of this 33, 12 players still to play in European finals this week so we were always going to need some additional players for the first part of the camp.”

Managers are able to select 26 players instead of the usual 23 for the European Championship to help lessen the load on the players.
Changes can be made to his squad up until the final submission date of June 1, while players who pick up an injury can be replaced before the first game of the tournament.

Goalkeepers
Goalkeeper Nick Pope was ruled out through injury as he requires surgery on a knee problem. With Pope out injured, this means Sam Johnstone will more than like fill his place.
Jordan Pickford and Dean Henderson are the other two goalkeepers who will almost certainly be named in the squad. Aaron Ramsdale is the likely name to miss out.
Pickford has been Southgate’s go-to choice for some time and is likely to start England’s first match of the tournament.

Defenders
Harry Maguire has been struggling with an injury picked up in the last three weeks and missed Wednesday’s Europa League final. But there is hope he will be ready for the Euros and Southgate is likely to pick the Man United man even if he goes into the tournament not fully fit.
The other centre-backs likely to be selected are John Stones, Tyrone Mings and Conor Coady. The unlucky ones are Ben White and Ben Godfrey with Kyle Walker and Declan Rice able to fill in as cover should the need arise.

The right-back position is one that will probably be causing the most headaches with Alexander-Arnold, Reece James, Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker all vying for a place.
James shined in the Champions League final while Walker has been excellent in recent months.
If Southgate were to select three, the likely ones would be Walker, James and Trippier wjth Alexander-Arnold will missing out.
Ben Chilwell and Luke Shaw are likely inclusions with both having good seasons for Chelsea and Manchester United respectively.
Who misses out: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Godfrey, Ben White.

Midfielders
Henderson’s return to the Liverpool bench was a boost for Southgate, but the midfielder has not played at all since February.
Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips are the other defensive midfield options available, with both playing keys roles in the March international break.
It will be a tough call on who to leave out and it could come down to Jude Bellingham or James Ward-Prowse. Mason Mount and Jesse Lingard are almost certain inclusions following their brilliant club form.

Forwards
England are blessed with so many options in attack, it will be difficult for Southgate to leave some players out.
Harry Kane will be the first name on the squad list alongside the likes of Marcus Rashford, Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho.
Mason Greenwood has been excellent for Man United in recent weeks and is likely to be picked, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin will back-up Kane.
Phil Foden has been brilliant for Man City and was unlucky to not be a Champions League winner, while Jack Grealish is likely to go despite missing several games in the tail end of the season.
It will be a tough call, but Bukayo Saka and Ollie Watkins may just be the two to be omitted.
