Cristiano Ronaldo wont let transfer talk get into his head as he prepares to lead reigning Euro champions Portugal to victory.
The Portugese superstar has been linked with a move away from Italian giants Juventus as of late, with rumours linking him to Paris Saint-Germain and a return to Manchester United.
Juve fell short of expectations last season, losing out on the Scudetto to Inter, and only just making a Champions League spot.
Although gaffer Andrea Pirlo has already been replaced by Massimiliano Allegri, some felt as though the club’s record transfer was partially to blame for the club’s shortcomings.
The legendary forward joined The Old Lady back in 2018 for a whopping £100million, and led the club to two Serie A trophies and finished as the league’s top scoring player last season.
Despite being 36, it seems as though there is plenty left for him to give and may join a club capable of winning top honours if he can’t get what he wants in Turin.
Ronaldo has reportedly grown concerned with the club’s ambitions, after a disappointing season he could have his eye on an exit.
But asked about a potential transfer in his pre-match press conference, the forward kept his guard up.
He said: “I have been playing at the highest level for many years, [speculation] doesn’t faze me,” Ronaldo said.
“Maybe if I was 18 or 19 I might have had some sleepless nights, but I’m 36.”
The superstar continued: “Whatever comes will be for the best regardless of staying at Juve or being transferred.
“The crucial thing now is the Euros, it is my fifth Euros, but for me it’s like my first Euros.
“We want to play a good match with good thoughts from the first to the last match.”
At United he developed into one of the best players the Premier League has ever seen prompting Real Madrid to spend £80m on him in 2009.
In Spain, he became one of greatest football players ever and would be welcomed back to Manchester.
PSG are another club reportedly interested in him, with Neymar making his admiration for the Real Madrid icon no secret.
With Ronaldo heading into a record breaking fifth European Championship, all eyes will be on his performances, with Hungary up first in the so-called Group of Death.
Portugal come into the tournament as one of the favourites, and after their surprise victory at Euro 2016, fans know anything is possible.
