‘Scotland are a Championship side’, says Jamie O’Hara, who slates finishing of Steve Clarke’s team after Euro 2020 defeat to Czech Republic

talkSPORT’s Jamie O’Hara was in no mood to sympathise with Scotland following their Euro 2020 defeat to the Czech Republic.

Having had to wait to play at a major tournament for 23 years, their return proved to be a damp squib as the Czechs won 2-0 at Hampden Park.

A double from Patrik Schick, including a stunning effort from the halfway line, proved to be the difference, although Scotland will leave the match wondering what might have been.

They had 19 shots – nine more than their opponents – but only four were on target.

And therein lies the problem for Scotland, believes O’Hara, who slated their ability to finish and said Steve Clarke’s side would only be good enough to play in the Championship.

“They’re Championship finishing,” a crowing O’Hara said to Ally McCoist on talkSPORT Breakfast.

“Let’s not beat around the bush. I know Jose said Scotland are a Premier League outfit – they ain’t. Championship outfit.

“If you’ve got Dykes and Christie up front, you need 19 chances. You’ve got to take those chances.

“There’s been all this talk about them coming in and being the underdog and they’re going to win the competition! 19 chances! You’ve got to score.

“Che Adams was on the bench, he plays for Southampton.”
