The 2019/20 campaign will not be one Alvaro Odriozola easily forgets – even though he didn’t get much game time!
Odriozola, 24, savoured Champions League glory on Sunday night as Bayern Munich secured their sixth European Cup with a 1-0 defeat of Paris Saint-Germain.
It capped off a remarkable season for the full-back, who incredibly won FIVE trophies in 2019/20 despite only making 10 appearances in all competitions.
Odriozola played just five times for Real Madrid in the first half of the season before making a temporary switch to Germany when the January transfer window opened.
A further five appearances followed for Bayern, with Odriozola featuring for only 613 minutes of football throughout the campaign.
This equates to Odriozola winning one trophy for every 122.6 minutes he spent on a football pitch in 2019/20 – a truly stunning statistic!
Despite his limited game time, the Spain international won the Bundesliga, the DFB Pokal, and of course the Champions League after joining Bayern.
Odriozola also picked up LaLiga and Spanish Super Cup winners medals having represented parent club Los Blancos in both competitions, and made a fleeting appearance in the Champions League against Club Brugge.
Odriozola, who signed from Real Sociedad in 2018, will now be hoping to return to the Bernabeu and make one of Real’s full-back positions his own in 2020/21.
It can’t get much better than last season though… can it?!
