Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard scores first Real Madrid goal in OVER A YEAR with thunderbolt strike against Huesca

Eden Hazard was back with a bang on Saturday, as the Belgian ace scored only his second ever Real Madrid goal with an absolute thunderbolt against Huesca.

Hazard’s £141million [€160m] move to the Bernabeu last summer hasn’t exactly gone to the plan for the former Chelsea star.

The forward has looked a shadow of the player who tormented Premier League defences and helped the Blues to six major titles in seven years at Stamford Bridge.

He has struggled for form, fitness and has faced frequent questions over his weight, despite still being crowned a LaLiga champion in his first season in Spain.

But he will hope those struggles are all behind him now after scoring his first goal in OVER A YEAR, and in fine style, too.

Huesca players were made to pay for giving the Belgium captain a little to much respect, as he took advantage of the space in the pocket to set himself up for rasping left-footed drive into the net.

It was like he never left!

The Belgian ace had gone 392 days without scoring, and it was only Hazard’s second goal in a famous Los Blancos shirt.

It’s worth noting that football was halted for three months by the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year, so that stat is perhaps a bit misleading.

Yet, Hazard did spent the majority of his first Real Madrid campaign on the treatment table, having suffered from persistent injury troubles that restricted him to just 16 appearances in total.

He’s been sidelined with SEVEN different injuries since joining the Spanish giants, including a fractured foot that saw him miss 17 matches from December to January earlier this year.

No doubt he, Real Madrid fans and manager Zinedine Zidane will be hoping this is the Hazard they will be seeing more often from now on.

Welcome back, Eden!
