Tim Sherwood hilariously claimed he ‘wasn’t worried’ about Liverpool’s late corner – only to see Roberto Firmino bury a header to claim a dramatic victory for the Reds over Tottenham.
The former Spurs boss was left with egg on his face when his prediction was hilariously proven wrong on live television.
As Andy Robertson stood ready to take a corner in the dying embers of the match, Sherwood said: “Another corner… I’m not too worried about this corner – it might come back to bite me.
“I think Tottenham have the dominancy in the air.
“I’m not sure anybody can get their head on the first ball.”
And in one of the TV moments of the year, Firmino rose above every Spurs defender and buried his header to seal all three points for the hosts.

Unsurprisingly, the BT Sport panel couldn’t hide their laughter at his prediction, with one of his colleagues saying ‘Oh Tim!’ as Firmino’s header thundered into the net to leave Sherwood red-faced.
The moment had striking similarities to Steve McClaren’s commentary gaffe during England’s 2-1 defeat to Iceland at Euro 2016.
The former Three Lions boss eulogised about England’s dominance over Iceland in their last-16 clash live on TV only to watch them go 2-1 down.
Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League table at the expense of Spurs following Firmino’s late header.
Jose Mourinho’s had looked like securing a point after Son Heung-Min had cancelled out Mohamed Salah’s opener.
Mourinho and Klopp had words on the touchline at full-time and the Portuguese later suggested he would not get away with his counterpart’s actions.
