It’s not clear what was dropped on the ground at the Hawthorns or if anyone was harmed in the incident, other than Allardyce’s pride that is!

Below you can see the hilarious video of Allardyce’s interview being interrupted.

He was speaking after West Brom’s convincing 3-0 win over Southampton on Monday as they look to complete an unlikely escape from the Premier League’s drop zone.

They’re not in action for another ten days, which sees them play Champions League chasing Leicester before taking on Midlands rivals Aston Villa on April 25.

Allardyce took aim at the Premier League for their fixture scheduling after West Brom’s stunning win over Chelsea last weekend.

And after Albion’s latest success, Allardyce made it clear how unhappy he is that his side don’t have a match to play this weekend.

He told talkSPORT: “Unfortunately for us we’ve been hard done by again because of the peers who are telling us we have to play on a Thursday night before we play Aston Villa on the Sunday.

“This is the third time we’ve been wrongly done by as far as I’m concerned. We are fighting for our lives and they go and throw that in.

“Aston Villa play [Manchester City] on the Wednesday, we play on the Thursday, why? We asked the Premier League to allow us to play Aston Villa next weekend and they wouldn’t allow it, why?

“I’ve no idea why they didn’t give it, probably money, rather than looking at what the situation is.

“It’s not the first time it’s happened. It happened way back with Everton when they were in the Cup, they made us play Thursday again and we lost to Everton 1-0 and then only drew 0-0 with Newcastle.

“That’s affected our physical output in that game, 20 per cent less than it is normally because we played on the Thursday.

“Hopefully we can beat Leicester, which will be a difficult task. I just wanted to point out the difficulties that we’ve been facing and thrown against us that I don’t personally think that we deserve.”

Allardyce then revealed that he and Villa boss Dean Smith requested to have the Villa vs West Brom match this weekend, but this was rejected and no explanation was provided.

He added: “I don’t see why Villa should play on a Wednesday and we have to play on a Thursday. Let’s both play on a Wednesday. What’s the problem?

“Both me and Dean Smith wanted to play this weekend, both of us. So why are we not allowed to play? I just don’t understand it.

“Why’s it got to be that Thursday? Why can’t it be Tuesday and then it’s a fair game again, what is the problem?

“But of course as much as I talk about it no one rings me up and gives me an absolute reason, no one gives us a reason why. They’ll just turn around and go ‘you’ve just got to get on with it’.

“Unless we have about 15 COVID cases, that’s the only way we’re going to get a game called off.”
