Harry Kane to Man City, Erling Haaland to Manchester United, Kylian Mbappe to Liverpool? Big transfers involving Premier League clubs that could happen this summer

Another Premier League season is over and for many of the clubs work is well under way towards building for next season.

With life as we know it gradually returning to normal, that could lead to big transfers involving some of the highest-profile players in the game coming back.

We already know Sergio Aguero is leaving Manchester City but where does the Argentine striker’s future lie?

No matter what happens, his exit from the Etihad, where he is a club legend, could create big shockwaves across the transfer market.

Will Pep Guardiola replace him, or will Gabriel Jesus come to the fore?

talkSPORT.com looks at what’s next for Aguero and also at the big transfers involving Premier League clubs that could happen this summer.

Harry Kane

It seems to be a matter of when rather than if Kane will leave Tottenham, the striker has given enough hints that he thinks it’s time to move on.

Manchester City and Manchester United appear to be the frontrunners to sign the 27-year-old.

Expect Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to not let his prized asset go without a fight though.

Erling Haaland

City and United have also been linked with Borussia Dortmund hotshot Haaland, prolific goalscorer with 41 goals in as many appearances for his club in 2020/21.

Haaland could be available for as low as £68million in 2022 when his release clause can be activated.

Any Premier League club who has more than £100m to spend this summer should get in now before the competition really ramps up.

Kylian Mbappe

It’s the transfer Liverpool fans have obsessed about for the best part of 18 months, but Mbappe to Anfield talk has been reignited.

He has just a year left on his deal at Paris Saint-Germain and any wish to leave will have been leveraged by the fact they lost the Ligue 1 title to Lille.

On his own future, the top scoring Ligue 1 man said: “What I want, is to win, feel like I am somewhere where I can win, where there is a solid project around me.”

It has, though, been widely reported Real Madrid are a favoured destination for the World Cup winner if he does wish to leave.

Mohamed Salah

We shouldn’t forget Liverpool have a strict business model so a move for Mbappe may have to come at the price of selling one of their star players. Salah was the only consistently good player in 2020/21 so he’s the only one who could leave for big money.

He’s under contract until 2023 but the Egyptian has suggested his future at Anfield isn’t secure on more than one occasion.

talkSPORT’s Danny Murphy can’t see Salah or teammate Sadio Mane, who by his own admission has been below par this season, going.

“It’ll be interesting to see what happens with both Salah and Mane, if they both stay,” Murphy said. “There are rumours one of them might go but I think both will stay, especially Salah. Lots of the interviews he’s given lately have been positive, he’s saying the right things.”

Paul Pogba

Man United have had a good season as they finished second in the Premier League and have a Europa League final date to look forward to on Wednesday, LIVE on talkSPORT.

But always lingering in the background are concerns about Pogba’s future at the club.

The midfielder, who has flirted with the idea of leaving a few times, has one year left on his contract so this summer would be the last chance for the Red Devils to cash in on him.

Jadon Sancho

United may lose a top midfielder in Pogba but the Red Devils look set to gain a top forward, with Sancho linked again with swapping Dortmund for Old Trafford.

Man United did their best to sign him last summer but were unwilling to pay the £108m asking price.

He will be available for a cheaper price this time though which could accelerate a deal, especially if he impresses at Euro 2020.

Sergio Aguero

We don’t know for sure where Aguero is going next but a move to Barcelona has been mooted.

City boss Guardiola all-but confirmed this at the weekend by saying he will play alongside Lionel Messi.

“I’m pretty sure – maybe I reveal a secret – he is close to agreeing a deal for the club of my heart, for Barcelona.

“He is going to be playing alongside the best player of all time, Lionel Messi.

“I’m pretty sure he is going to enjoy. And maybe Barcelona are stronger and stronger with him on the pitch.”

But a Premier League club could still come in with a mega-bid and tempt him to remain in England.
