Man City are reportedly prepared to offer Sergio Ramos a two-year contract should he walk away from Real Madrid this summer.
Ramos, 35, is set to be a free agent at the end of June when his current deal expires with his future currently up in the air.
City are in the market for extra reinforcements at centre-back with Eric Garcia on his way to Barcelona while Aymeric Laporte’s future is said to be in doubt.
Laporte was in fact named in Spain’s Euro 2020 squad after switching international allegiance from France while veteran Ramos was left out by boss Luis Enrique.
According to ESPN, City boss Pep Guardiola is in awe of Ramos’ leadership qualities and will offer the 35-year-old a contract should he not renew at the Bernabeu.
The report also claims Ramos’ representatives and will meet with Real president Florentino Perez on Friday in order to resolve the Spaniard’s future.
He has been a brilliant servant to the club since joining from Sevilla in 2005.
During the next 16 years, he’s played 671 times and scored a remarkable 101 goals – an incredible tally for a defender.
He has also won 22 trophies, including five LaLigas and four Champions Leagues.
