City are in the market for extra reinforcements at centre-back with Eric Garcia on his way to Barcelona while Aymeric Laporte’s future is said to be in doubt.

Laporte was in fact named in Spain’s Euro 2020 squad after switching international allegiance from France while veteran Ramos was left out by boss Luis Enrique.

According to ESPN, City boss Pep Guardiola is in awe of Ramos’ leadership qualities and will offer the 35-year-old a contract should he not renew at the Bernabeu.

He has been a brilliant servant to the club since joining from Sevilla in 2005.
