Well, that’s one way to mark your return.
To say Cristiano Ronaldo is back with a bang would be an understatement.
The Juventus superstar graced the pitch for the first time since testing positive for coronavirus on October 13 – and he didn’t disappoint.
After getting the all-clear earlier this week, Ronaldo started the clash at Spezia on the bench due to a lack of game time.
But with the clash tied at 1-1 and Juve struggling, the 35-year-old was introduced on 57 minutes. The Old Lady were in front 126 seconds later.
Ronaldo made up for lost time by rounding the goalkeeper and netting his fourth goal of the season, before embarking on his trademark celebration.
His fifth goal of the season quickly followed: a cheeky Panenka penalty to keep the Portugal icon right up there with the top scorers in Serie A despite only playing three matches so far this season, his most recent a substitute appearance.
But guess who is at the top of the scoring charts in Italy? None other than 39-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who bagged the winner for AC Milan at Udinese on Sunday.
As they say, class really is permanent.
