Erling Haaland insists he’s ‘happy’ at Borussia Dortmund despite transfer links with European giants including Juventus and Liverpool

Erling Haaland insists he is happy at Borussia Dortmund as speculation continues to mount over his future with the Bundesliga giants.

Haaland broke onto the scene last season at Red Bull Salzburg before Borussia Dortmund beat Manchester United to sign him for a cut-price £17million in January.

The Norway sensation remarkably became the fastest player in history to score 15 Champions League goals last month, bettering the records of some true greats of the game such as Ronaldo, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Zinedine Zidane.

His breakthrough in 2020 saw him deservedly claim the Golden Boy award after he netted a ridiculous 44 (yes, 44) goals in all competitions during 2019/20, with 28 scored for Salzburg in the first half of the season and 16 in 18 matches for Dortmund.

He has netted ten goals in eight Bundesliga matches this season – behind only Robert Lewandowski (13) in the scoring charts – but a torn hamstring has ruled him until at least January.

And the 20-year-old, whose current contract runs until 2024, has insisted he remains happy at the Westfalenstadion for the time being despite being linked with a host of huge clubs including Juventus and Liverpool.

“Have I been close to Juventus? That’s what they say, but I’ve never said it,” said Haaland in quotes reported by Tuttosport.

“I’ve been at Borussia Dortmund for a year here, I’m fine here and I’m happy.”

Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola, who has dominated the headlines in recent weeks due to his comments about Paul Pogba, did not rule out a move to Serie A giants Juve, however.

Asked about the possibility of Haaland switching to Italy, the super agent said: “In the destiny of these great players, a passage here is never to be excluded – it is always the Bel paese (‘beautiful country’).”
